OCR A A-Level Chemistry Specialist
“I empower A-Level Chemistry students doing the OCR spec with the right exam techniques to boost their confidence, and in turn excel in the exams.”
When students have an insight into the examiner’s methods, they can not only study smarter, but manage their time more wisely in the exam and do well.
3-Step Process

Join a trial class to see how the sessions work before committing to monthly plan.
Learn and refine your technique in class
Each week, we focus on understanding the foundations of the topic for the day, and in the second session, apply techniques learned to typical exam questions.
Strengthen individual weaknesses
Each student gets their own personal 1:1 time to review homework, or go over specific questions or topics in more detail.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
In summary, students receive:
One 90-minute small group session each week: with an exam-practice deep dive
Two 60-minute one-to-one sessions every month to focus on individual weaknesses, questions and progress
Each session features teaching to build understanding of key OCR A-Level Chemistry topics and an exam paper deep dive focused on applying knowledge to OCR exam questions
Regular assignments, usually exam question practice, to reinforce learning outside of sessions
The programme is designed specifically for OCR A-Level Chemistry and combines structured small group teaching with regular individual support.
Rather than simply moving through the specification in order, the programme is built around the toughest and most frequently examined A-Level Chemistry topics, so students spend more time on the areas where stronger understanding and better exam technique can make the biggest difference.
Students are also given regular assignments to complete outside of sessions. These are usually exam question practice tasks that reinforce what we have covered and help students apply their knowledge independently.
At the start of the next session, we begin with a short recap to consolidate understanding before moving on to the topic of the day.
Alongside the group sessions, students receive a 60-minute one-to-one session every two weeks (hybrid programme only). These sessions are used to focus on their individual weaknesses, questions, progress and next steps.
-
The hybrid programme is capped at just 6 students and is designed to give students the structure and momentum of regular group sessions while still keeping individual support built in.
The twice monthly one-to-one sessions allow us to address your child’s specific gaps, review progress and work on areas where they need more individual guidance.
-
The Chemistry programme costs:

Billed in advance at the start of each month.
-
Yes. There is a minimum one-month commitment when joining the programme.
This gives students enough time to settle into the rhythm of the sessions and allows us to begin identifying strengths, weaknesses and next steps properly.

I run a Parent Open Evening so parents can meet me, see how the programme works, understand my approach to exam technique, and ask any questions before deciding whether it is the right fit for their child.
Where suitable, I may also arrange a short consultation before enrolment to make sure the programme is appropriate for your child.
